I would like to Thank You, EdPets Crews, Volunteers & the Participants for the 1st Brunei Exotic Pets Show-Off. The 1st step is always the hardest. Lets make the next one, better.

To all the visitors, i also sincerely, Thank You. Without YOU ALL, it will be just US. Hehehe.. I believe, in the process, alot more Bruneians are keeping an open mind on Reptiles Now, right.

Reptiles are animals just like Cats, Hamster, Fish. People fear them because people dont understand them, but when you get educated on them. The Fear fade aways, and turns to interest.

There are a lot of activities which will be conducted during the two days event.

From my 3th clutch (ID: 2011.BP.C03). Just came back from work, didnt really check the incubator, as the due date is tomorrow. (*Wrong calculation on the Days). Just before checking my previous babies, saw through the window of my incubator a Baby Ball Python head. (*Apparantly, i miscalculated the date, today was 56-Days) I have added a NEW tool on my side bar -> check it out, When is 55-Days? I find it much easier to count days, lol...

2011.BP.C02 = 2011 is Year Produce, BP is Ball Pythons, C02 is Clutch No.02.

Below is a 2011.BP.C02.XhGS.X, which reads, X either Normals (N) or Pastel (P), hets (h), Genetic Stripe(GS), the X is m(male), f(female) and their corresponding numbers.

A few update on my 2nd Ball Python Clutch.

1st one to pip, was 1st one to come out. Its a normal, hope its a female ;P. cant really tell what the rest of his siblings are. Definitely NO Butters here, so, praying for a least a Pastel or YellowBelly.

With the predicted genes now, and eggs open. I see, maybe 2 Pastels. Inshallah, please yield me a Male & Female Pastel, which they are gonna be 100% het for Genetic Stripe.

Here is my 1st clutch of eggs. Between my 1.0 Butter x 0.1 Normal (Crocky). 42-Days in incubation.

In another 2-weeks or so, Inshallah. ;o)

Incubation them at 31.1C-31.3C. Substrate-less method.

Summer Campers visits Exotic Pets Expo 2011.

Hello, again. Another busy morning, as the Summer Campers of ISB, JIS & CBf came for an educational visit to the Exotic Pets Expo 2011 at HuaHo Mid-Year Expo 2011, Kiulap.

Usually, the students would go for a few hours of arcade at The Mall. But, since they heard there is a Exotic Pets Expo around the corner. The students cheer to have something different for a change.

Rather than a couple of hours at the Arcade, the teachers here thinks it a best thing that this expo have to offer is the individual tour guide explaining the species, care, do & don't about pet reptiles.

At first, some of the students are scared of the slithering snakes & crawling lizards. But with the tour guides around, they are given assurance that the animals display here make wonderful pets and are totally safe.

Students very eager to hold a Red Knee Tarantula.

Before entering the exhibition, the tour guides usually practice a Brief Safety Briefing. Included in the briefing is whenever you encounter a snake outside this exhibition, pls call your mommy or daddy or your teachers. Or simply call for HELP. The snake found outside of the exhibition are very unfriendly and will hurt you. The students agree to this statement, and hopefully this educational tour will remind them of the dangers.

Apart from the animals displayed, there is a sitting area with a video about reptiles showing every 30-60 minutes intervals. For someone, who are scared of snakes, they can sit down and watch the video, in their own comfort.

The students ask question about what they eat, the daily routine of cleaning and petting the animals. Some even wanted to volunteer working as they wanted to handle & touch the reptiles everyday. ;o)

Don't miss this out the Exotic Pets Expo 2011 at the Kiulap Hua Ho Mid Year Sale Expo 2011.

Inside they have more than 40 different snakes and reptiles. Most of the collection is owned by Eddie. Check out his blog here. Is really worth to have a look inside there unless you are a Ophidiohobic "afraid of snake" one lah! Yes at 1st I am a bit afraid of touching them but after a while understand them I start not takut and dare to touch them. It feel really smooth for some snake and I didn't expected they are so good boy and good girl.

I see this hobby getting popular on this day... I also feel like want to keep one also but I was told by Ezam make sure I really love this pet and can taking care them for 15 to 30 years coz some of this animal can live up to 30 years long so make sure you really take them as your part of family. Don't just play play for few years then throw them away like no body. So after the few consideration I think I quit for this hobby coz I don't think I can tahan that long. So I', going back there again but this time with my family.. It is great place for family and kids to visit and is really worth for some education about the reptile also.

It started opened already from today 22 July until 21 August time 10am-10pm. $3.00 for kids, $6.00 for adult and half price for senior citizen to entry.

Small Female, Small Clutch.

Small female equals small clutch (less eggs) I expected this, as this female was just on breeding weight of 1280-grams when I 1st pair her in December'10 with my 1.0 Pastel. She continues to eat during the breeding, (she never refuse a meal, ever since I got her) then refuse & accepted food till the middle of 3th month of breeding. After that, she refuses completely any food offered on the 4th month till today.

Ball Python shows parental instinct, which in the reptile kingdom, they usually dont take care of their youngs. But, to lessen the stress, and safety of my females & the need to bring her weight back up. I have to remove the eggs, and incubate it artificially.

There is no harm in parental incubation, but bear in mind, the female havent been eating for the pass 3 months, and ball python eggs usually hatch in average 55-days, with the mom on the eggs, that's a total of 5-months without food.

So, I'm going to artificially incubate the eggs, then tomorrow, hopefully she'll have her 1st meal. (2 of my females, accepted food straight away 1 day after they lay, hope this one will too)

A slim chance for a super pastel, but who knows, right? On paper, there is a 1 in every 4 eggs for a super pastel. My target is a male super pastel, that my wish, lol.. All 4 eggs, Super pastels, please.. AMIN!!

55-days plus today, expected hatching 16-sept-2011.

About the hatching of my Leopard Gecko between a pairing of a Sunglow and a Jungle Tremper.

Here they are after about 2 months 1 weeks old .

I'm so new to the Leopard Gecko world, I 'to-date' dont know what morph are these offsprings are.

Hope, a few gecko hobbiest will guide me, lol. Anyway, my next pairing will be between a Sunglow x Sunglow, which will yield 100% sunglows.

How to make a 1:1 ratio on your vermiculite.

1. Tare your Egg Container.

2. Weight your dry vermiculite. Here i place 100-grams. I'm using a 1:1 ratio water/vermiculite ratio.

3. After "tare" the vermiculite weight. Add water using a water sprayer, its gets everything wet evenly.

4. 101-grams of water in the 100-grams of vermiculite mix. No mixing nessary, no mess. Good luck.

Was expecting this, cause she was so full & round. Didnt want to eat. And was just bulking up.

A typical ball python on her eggs.

Lift her up & found 6 white ball pythons eggs.

Weight them and got an average 91.3 grams per egg. Hope all are fertile. Will candle after 36-hours.

Im cooking them at 31.5C. with swings between 31.2C - 31.6C

Wish me luck & Lets count together, 55-days from today. ;o)

Im still very new to Leopard Gecko. Even this breeding is an experiment. Which was successful after 3 tries. 1 try, didnt know that moss will dry up so quickly, that 2 eggs dry-up. 2 try, got 1 slug. 3 try is a charm. Which I incubate at 27-28C, to get female ratio.

Ps. Havent got the rhytem to make a proper post. Been, so silent so long.

Sorry for the lack of update, been a pretty buzy month for me. ahaks.. Another rodent room has been made. Woohoo.. But im still catching up on my rodent breeding. As they are no supplies here, who can supply me at least 40-50 breeding pairs. (Anyone, who knows or can supply or offer.. hit me an email or call me. Name me your price!!) To date, manage to increase my rat breeding colony from 3, to 7 now. With 1.3 in each tub. Once I hit 10 colonies, i will need 10 adult males, as to minimise inline breeding.

Now, Something "NEW" for 2011.

Leopard Gecko or scientific name, Eublepharis macularius.

Below are, Sunglow and Jungle Tremper.

Offspring between these two would be 50%/50%, Sunglows & Jungle Trempers.

I didnt think i would have in my mind to keep them. But due to my abundant supplies (from self breeding) of mealworms, even my 25 plus Tarantulas & feeding my Sugargliders, I still got excess. And I got no intention of selling them. (Mealworms)

Hello, Im following a tip from Justin of J.Kobylka Reptiles. (well, there is no harm in trying, or experiment, right) That give the breeding snakes a 1 week rest every month.

It does give a very valid point (who you are kidding, an advice from justin kobylka lol)

1st. it rest both the pairing.

2nd. it keep the stress back to minimum.

3th. time for me to take a rest too. haha.. im following a 3-days on/off pairing.

4th. it keeps my rat/mic production in check. Pounding my rodents every 3-days, make my stocks in chaos. Take this word from me, I breed & also buy. (i need to be fully prepare for the coming snake babies, hopefully)

5th. importantly, time for me to check the condition of my animals.

So after the 1 week rest, I went back to breeding, after a few hours, this happen..

Butter X Crocky (Normal), which will give Normals & Butter.

Pastel x Genetic Stripe, which will give Pastel & Normal 100% het Genetic Stripe.

I pair the Genetic Stripe with a Butter last month too. So, roulette breeding on this one, but hope both Pastels & Butters will turn out on this one. lol..

My most anticipate pairing. I strictly place a Butter & this "Pastel" to breed with my streak. (hopefully, he's a Pastel Yellowbelly)

Pastel (hopefully its a Pastel Yellowbelly) X Silver Streak.

If the Butter was the father, hoping for the Butter Black Pewter.

If the Pastel (hopefully Pastel Yellowbelly), wish to nail the SilverStreak Belly. (Can I call it that?? lol)

But even if the pastel is just a Pastel, a SilverStreak the most wont be too bad + a super pastel & a black pewter in the mix.

Maybe its the non-stop raining for 2-days now.. or maybe, the 1 week rest gave them full energy. Anyhow, its pairing & pairing.. until *jeng jeng* ovulation..

Captive-breed Ball Pythons in Brunei? Well, its too soon to say.. But wish me all the best..

Here she is now.. The same bowl. (But im not using that bowl for her anymore)

She's just a Normal, wont see her to brighten up soon. But i love her tame & docile character.

She live in my snake-rack at the moment. Until, she out-grow this current one.

Keeping brongs IMHO is a bit different than Ball Pythons. Brongs on my personal observation, they require a bit of a higher humidity than Balls. So, adding to the simplicity of keeping boids, I mist my bloods tubs twice a week.

Im just a small collector (and will keep it that way). Even if i have my own place & got lots and lots of space.(even if i have workers to do all the chores) I would really consider ever keeping a snake which can grow over 15-foot.

None, of the snake in my collection (to date) will ever to grow over 12-ft. I only predict my female brong will grow up to 10-ft.

Imagine..

Imagine, the waste.

(All the above, is situation, where you are the "only" keeper for such beauty)

Anyway, that is just me. I dont see, myself keeping them. Even tho, I love all snakes. I know, some of you out there, keep monster snake. So salute & congratulation for keeping them. Wish that snake, will enjoy a happy & healthy life as it is the owners responsibility to keep and take care of their pets, right.

Snakes biting, part of working with a lot of snakes or any animal for that matter is getting bit. Here at SnakeBytesTV and BHB we get bit a lot, but the truth is most of our snakes never bite. We want to show you the two major reasons that snakes bite and what we do about it when it happens. Remember snake bites happen, but as long as they are NOT venomous snakes, there is seldom anything to be freaked out about:)

I keep Pet Snakes which are non-poisonous.

Beginners Pet Snakes, includes Ball Pythons, Corn Snakes, Milk Snakes & King Snakes. They are beginners due to they relative small size less than 6 feet when adults. It wont over power you, and you can relatively handle them alone.

Then come, the Intermediate Pet Snakes, such as Hognose, Boas, Bloods. Boas & Bloods can grow up to 12 feet & they required at least 2 person to handle, cause at adult size, they sure weight alot and there are very powerful constrictors. Hognose on the other hand, are know to give an allergic reaction when it bites to some people.

And lastly, the Expert Pet Snakes, like Burmese Pythons, Reticulated Pythons, African Rock Pythons, Anacondas. These snakes grow more than 20 feet, at such giant length, these snakes have incredible power & weight, they can easily over power 2-3 full grown adult. Respect to those keepers.

Axanthic is 1st produce by VPI in 1997. Axanthic is a simple recessive mutation.

The way the silver/blue highlights the contrasting black and The way the silver/blue highlights the contrasting black and white is truly AWESOME!......These snakes lack most yellow coloration/pigment.....because of this.........they do not have the normal brown appearance of a normal ball python.

Hello, readers. Long time, no update. I was practically very buzy, and the last 2 weeks, my baby boy Rafie was sick, which then made me sick. Anyway, I'm recovering now, and I can update a few things.

As the title say, "Finally, you ate!!" I wasn't worried or anything, cause Ball pythons tends to fast ever now and then. And, again, her weight lost isn't that too worrying.

Added to the collection: 17-Aug-2010 at 1027-grams.

Finally ate : 02-November-2010 at 1006-grams.

Over 2-months of fasting, hope she will continue this trend.

Long time no post. Been buzy with Hari Raya, working & DIY project.

If you know, me I plan things. Here's my DIY project.

I currently got 8 rat tubs & 36 mice tubs. Just enough to feed my collection of 42 snakes/week, with the extras sold.

With the breeding season coming, I dont want to be in shortage of mice pinkies & rat pinkies. So I start.. building the 5 stories tub 1st as a trial. (as its a trial, any mistakes will be noted & so the 2nd built will be much more easier to built)

Here is my oldest snake in m collection. I keep her since she was a baby 5 years ago.

Did I mention, she was also my 1st snake. Before I buy a snake, I did my research before purchasing her. I research on their food, ease of keeping, temperament. You can find all these in google since we are all in this internet technology.

In summary, A very easy & a total beginners pet snake to keep. I have over 40-plus snake in my collection with 6 species of snake (i got blood python, boa, ball python, cornsnake, milksnake & hognose), I would put my word that corns are easier to keep. I ever keep kingsnakes species before but they are more temperament, not that i cant handle their temper or habit. I want to keep snakes that are known to be docile & not easily provoke.

So to those of you who wants to keep a pet snake, I highly recommend a cornsnake as your 1st snake. They will readily almost eat, cause compare to ball pythons, they do turn a meal down, which could hinder the eagerness of a new pet snake owner. Females grow up to 6-feet (well, that's the record), and males grow up to 4-feet. My Smygle (yeah, that's her name), she is just 5feet 10inch.

Then again, there are people keeping poisonous cobra, which will be putting himself at risk, not to mention the people (family) around you. Or why keep a Retic (Ular Sawa), they are cute when babies, but what will you do when it reach 10-feet or more, will you be able to feed it? Feeding mice or rats to them, that will take more than 20-mices or 10-rats to keep him full. where will you keep it? Do you have a friend standing by if you handle them, a snake over 8-feet, you need 2 person or more for supervision.

Be a responsible pet snake owner. There are enough stray cats and dogs around from irresponsible pet owners.. boo.

Superb coloration, and temperament. Honestly, a blood feels very different than holding a ball python or a boa. Guess, you just have to experience it to feel the difference.

A woma ball python is almost similiar to a spider ball python. Infact, a spider breed to other are simpily stunning. As a example, a spider breed to a pastel will produce a Bumblebee. A stunning morph indeed.

But why did i get a woma. A woma breed to a pastel will produce a woma pastel. Not as stunning a bumblebee (hands down..), but wait till a woma pastel breed to a yellow belly or a butter or a lesser. The triple morph offsprings are simpily stunning, i could say more stunning than a spider triple morph.

Well, i might be bias, but you can check out what woma morphs becomes when incorporated to others. Booya!!

He's about 600-grams plus, pounding on 1 rat per feeding. I dont want him to grow up too fast, i adopt a 7-14 days feeding regime for him.

I have no breeding plans for him at the moment cause I'm more concentrated on my other snakes. But stay tuned..

Which Pastel Ball Python would you like?

There are a lot of Pastel Ball Pythons. Some breeders will grade them, with Grade-A being the most beautiful, and Grade-E being the least.

Pastel is a color mutation in Ball Python. Where on a Normal, its just dark color snake, whereas on a Pastel, its obvious Yellow coloration.

Even then, there are some Normals which looks like a Pastel. Dishonest breeders/sellers will sell Normals as Pastel. Typically, a Pastel cost more than a Normal, due to the co-dominant advantage on a Pastel. So, get your money worth.

A Normal breed to a Normal, will always give 100% Normal babies. While, a Pastel to a Pastel, will give Normals, Pastels & Super Pastels. A Super Pastel is a more intensely color snake. The beauty of a Super Pastel is when breed to a Normal, 100% of the offsprings will be Pastels. If a Pastel to a Normal, will give 50% Normals, 50% Pastels. So a Super Pastel is a great snake to have in a collection, when you have a future plan set-up.

There are a few ways to identify a Pastel. 1st, its Yellow coloration, but some normals do show yellowing coloration like a Pastel. 2nd, is a clear belly, most ball python morphs have clear belly. 3th, Pastel got Green to light Green eyes. Normals dont. Last, most pastel have a faded clear head. A few Breeders will go for the last method (including me), not as an indicator as a pastel, but they use this feature for future breeding purposes.

Here are my own Pastel collection. From a low grade to a very good Grade of Pastel.

1st, my very 1st Pastel Ball Python. I was once a newbie, so I didnt check for good grade Pastels.

He got nice yellow color, green eyes, but the faded clear head is not that great. I grade him as Grade-C.

2nd, one of my Female Pastel. This is one beautiful Pastel, very high Yellow coloration, faded head is also noticeable here. I grade her as Grade-B.

Lastly, a very Good grade Pastel Ball Python. Infact, she was sold as a Blonde Pastel Ball Python. Why blonde? There are a few very good lines of Pastels. NERD, Blonde, Lemon to name a few. Good thing is most pastel, brown out with age. With blonde, the yellow coloration stays till adulthood. Here she is, what do you think?

Her future is to be breed to a Pastel Yellow Belly, a Ball Python with 2 morphs. I'm not sure, what line, the Pastel Yellow Belly is, but i'll grade him as Grade-B. The Offsprings will be Normal, Pastel, Blonde Pastel, Yellow Belly, Pastel Yellow Belly, Blonde Pastel Yellow Belly, Super Pastel/Blonde & Super Pastel/Blonde Yellow Belly. Hopefully, I plan to bred and get a pure line of Blonde Pastels. I see, not a lot of breeders around here, emphasis on this importance. But if you know me, I'm more details on the work I done. Call me serious, but I want is customer satisfaction & my own reputation too.

Why i elaborate on the importance Pastel lines in a collection. If you want to do breeding in the future, like say, you want to produce a Bumblebee, thats a Pastel breed to a Spider. If you use a low grade Pastel, the Bumblebee, you produce will also be a low-grade one. Where a low-grade Bee, which is beautiful as hatchling, will brown-out with age. But if you use a good line Pastel, with that Spider, the Bumblebee you produce will be much more better, and the color stays bright. It will even have a new name, a BlondeBee.

The Sulcata Tortoise is an African species land Tortoise, It is one of the three largest tortoises, growing to 2 to 2 1/2 feet in length, often weighting 45-kg to 90-kg when fully grown.

Slow and steady does it. Hope it will enjoy more happy life under my care.

Genetic Stripe Ball Python & Super Mojave Ball Python.

A Genetic stripe is a recessive morph ball python, breeding it with a Normal will produce all Normal 100% het for Genetic Stripe.

The Super Mojave is co-dominant morph, produce by breeding a Mojave to a Mojave.

The Genetic Stripe has always been in my collection. Been keeping her a year plus now. She grows more beautiful with time, I was really surprise that, she's the public favorite as everyone who sees her, says she's a absolute beauty. Its a wise spend, even though I haven't produce het Genetic Stripe, but when the time comes, picture will tell a thousand tales.

The Super Mojave is NOT mine, instead its a friend. Made a deal with him, to breed the Super Mojave with my Male Butter. Predicted offsprings would be Normals, Butters, Mojaves and the stunning Blue Eye Lucy (in this case, a Butter & Mojave). A Blue Eye Lucy, is a completely white snake (Ball Python), infact more whiter than the Super Mojave. As the name says, it does have Blue Eyes. An absolute stunner, when thinking of a white snake, with brilliant blue eyes. Stay tuned for their breeding outcome.

Caramel Albino Ball Python

Another recessive morph ball python added to my collection.

A caramel albino is different from an albino, a caramel albino is also call an Albino +, while an albino is call an Albino -.

The Caramel Albino, describe as a wash out normal, with all blacks absent, like an albino but leaving a yellowish, brownish, lavender color, which you got to see it yourself. It one of the rare morphs that maintain its color through adulthood.

The combination morphs that can be achieve by breeding the Caramel into others are unlimited.

But working with recessive is a long way journey, but I guess, it will be very worth it in the end.

How do I feed all my snakes? Snakes will happily eat once a week. So that is 30 rats/mice per week. In a month, that's over 120 rats/mice. Its just not economical for me, if i keep buying. That why, I have a Rat & Mice Colony going on.

Mind you, I have keep mice ever since i got my 1st snake, way back in 2005. Lots of trial & error to have a steady supply of rodents every week. Takes a lot of effort, actually.

She is a Reverse Okeetee. A selective breed Amel, targeting yellow/white pattern against the back saddle markers.

She's 6-feet 1-inch plus in length. Weight 1040-grams.

Gonna pair her with a Classic & a Snow het Motley this year. Hope she give me some. Eish!!!

How it all began...

I kept alot of animals when i was young. During my younger years, i was fascinated by animals, my animals are from garden caught frogs, fish, beetles, grasshoppers, snakes, birds, if u saw an animal in your garden, i probably have kept it before.

During my teen years, I was fascinated by fishes. I can't remember how many fishes I started keeping. some were blood parrot, red devil, goldfishes, black moors, kaloi, oscar, sucker fish.. all those common fishes you see in Brunei Fish stores.

I was schooling, and feeding them requires me extra chores thus extra cash to spend on the foods, treatments for this fishes. To me fish keeping is alot of work & is expensive for my budget. If u ever kept fish before you know the drill. Coincidence, there was a snake show that was held in gadong (I cant remember the year).. where I 1st saw reptiles & snakes. That where I got hooked & wanted to own a snake.

I did my research in and out, and found out.. Snakes perfectly fit the criteria of easier to keep pets, less maintenance, very nice & totally cool & its very unique.

Then in Nov 2005, was the day, i finally get myself a snake. My 1st snake was a cornsnake, a reverse okeetee cornsnake.

From then on, I wanted to increase my collection. Due to the non-existence of pet snake in Brunei, I kept only one snake for 2 years plus. (And that snake is still with me).

During the HM birthday in 2007, I saw an exhibition booth in Kuala Belait. There was a crowd going on. I cant believe that, there is a snake exhibition in Brunei. I meet the owner of that exhibition, Marvin.
From that day onward, I owe the increase in my collection from Marvin.

So people ask, why am I into snakes?

Well, for Me. I keep my 1st goal why I started to keep snakes. That is "easier to keep, less maintenance & still very nice & cool at the same time." Everyone got to have a hobby, either is modfying cars, collecting toys. I dont know, i guess a hobby makes you occupied rather than talk-zero.

Anyway, why snakes?

Easier & cheaper to keep.. as they only need to be fed.. every 7 days, and if you are really that lazy.. 10-days without food ia still ok. They even can live without feeding for a month. But I wont do that. I want my snake to have a healthy growth..so my snakes are on a 7-day schedule. How is it cheaper? So 1 snake, you will only be spending $10 a month. if the seller, sells 4 mice of $10. But if you breed some mice, it will self produce & then can feed your snake for free.
Less maintenance.. I keep my snake using used newspaper & unprinted papers.. I know other people will have a negative comment on this.. but Im keeping to my goal on why I started to keep snake. used newspaper is virtually free. easy to dispose, hygienic & Almost everyone (other snake keeps from all over the world) use newspaper as their bedding.

very nice, cool & unique at the same time... How? well, if u saw a snake/reptile exhibition.. ask the owner, that you wanted to hold one.

Reptiles don't have fur. Usually fur will make someone's allergy comes out. Its a fact that, there is no known reports of reptiles causing someone to have allergies. If you are allergic to cats, dogs, rabbits, hamster.. Maybe a reptile is a pet for you.

Each one has a different view & taste on pets. Some people keep cats, dogs, rabbits. Each has their reasons.. I think almost all the people in the world, has a negative feedback on snakes. One top question, the people here in Brunei is.. "Inda be-racun kah?" "Inda gigit kah?" I dont blame them on this question, as I mention earlier, the negativity on snake has effected everyone, I think this is due to movies, documentary & old folk tales.

There are many snakes in this world, poisonous & non-poisonous. ALL the snakes that I keep are NON-POISONOUS & off course they do bite, just like your cats, kitten, rabbit, dogs.. so if even if they bite me, I will still be OK & not going to emergency rooms, except for some cool scars from their bite. And since all my snake are captive breed, they are no risk on me from contaminating either parasites & other harmful organism. Fyi, I have been bitten a few times already, and here I am still capable of typing this long long long "essay" which i dont normally do.

The snake that i keep, dont grow to monster size. Bruneian people would say, if seeing a snake, its either "Oh, ular sawa or penalan".. "Oh, ular cobra tu.. berbisa" All my snake would grow to a max of 6 feet for female, well that is what the internet says. My 1st cornsnake the reverse okeetee is a 6-footer now btw she is 5 years old this year (2010). The fully mature adult male would grow up to 5-feet. Anyway, Im almost repeating my facts.. which you can all easily find the snakes info, either by goggling or yahoo.

Excuse me, as my interest expand. I do infact keep 3 "medium" monster size snakes. 2 Blood pythons & a Boa constrictor. I hope, i will be able to resist myself from adding a few of this as they will require space big time. But they are still babies, and with a modest feeding schedule i intent not to boost their sizes too fast. Even snakes or any other pets, be a "responsible" pet owner.

After keeping snakes, then, i decide to keep my life a bit more busier.. which i got my self a pair of sugargliders, then into Tarantulas. Both this animals, are also categorised as "Exotic Pets" or new world pets. Except the sugargliders requires a bit more TLC.

Snake Racks.

What do you do when you have a lot of pets, particularly like me, keeping snakes as pets. I want a more efficient & space saving way to keep all snakes. I ask around & found that a racking system will work best. Just like what the guys at BHBreptiles, henry piorun, ralphdavis they are using a rack system.

Its neat & very space saving. Tub rack also give you the no need for lids.

No lids give you quicker access to feeding & other husbandry adjustments. It does improve my cleaning & feeding time a lot. Before it was 3-4 hours job, now a mere 30-mins.

I made a plan about it in Feb-2010.

Before.. It looks messy & very un-organised.

A bookshelf brought from a local furniture shop, which i use to stack all my tubs on.

Then some Exoterra tubs.

Now... My more professional looking, smart tubs & the best very space saving.

I Go green guys, I recycle & I use back my old tubs and incorporated it to my rack design.

Here is my colubrids rack. My corns, milks & hognoses are place here. I use the existing bookshelf and done a modification to fit all the tubs.

Here's Pythons Rack. 27-snakes can accommodate this rack, but need to buy 7 more tubs. ;P

As pythons can get heavy. I adopt a white laminate finish and a thicker board to cater for the weight increase & the increase humidity. Dont want to face a mildew problem in the future due to high humidity.

The female grow so much, almost reaching 100-grams now. I feed her 2 fuzzy per week.

Here is the Male. There is a major difference in their size. I feed him 1 fuzzy per week. Its not that I dont offer him a 2nd fuzzy, guess he's full after the 1st one.

Here they are together. Brunei-born Albino Hoggies in the future.. I hope so..

What you get when u cross a pair of Mojave together?

You get a Super Mojave. A white snake with a faded kinda translucent head.
Will breed this Super Mojave with a Butter this year.
The offsprings will be 50% Mojave & 50% Blue Eye Lucy (Butter & Mojave)

How does a Mojave look like?
